Why foam density is the whole story

Shredded foam feels plush in the shop and collapses within weeks. Solid slabs of 3.5 lb/ft³ or higher are what keep a joint off the floor. Ask for density, not thickness — a 10cm layer of cheap foam supports less than 6cm of good foam.

The wash test

We ran every removable cover through twelve 40°C cycles. Two shrank enough to fight the zip; one waterproof membrane cracked and started leaking at wash eight. Covers with a separate inner liner did far better than a single sprayed coating.

Sizing for real dogs

Measure your dog stretched flat on their side, nose to tail base, then add 20cm. Most owners buy one size too small because dogs curl up in the shop and sprawl at 2am.

Barking Brilliant buys everything it tests. We do not sell products and never take payment for a placement or a score.
